Community Medicine


To contribute in improving overall health of the community through comprehensive patient care, research, education and empowerment of community with emphasis on health promotion, disease prevention and cost effective interventions.



To train medical students in Community Medicine to function at community level as first level physicians in reducing suffering of people through prevention and treatment of diseases.

To train medical students to work as a member of health team, identifying health needs, planning & implementation of national programs through application of epidemiological principles.
